PS8 students have several options for Summer learning in 2022! The District will offer the following programs: (Please note more information and registration instructions will be forthcoming)
Pre-K 4 Summer Enrichment Program for students heading to Kindergarten: July 5 to August 1, 8am to 12pm, M-F. Program will focus on Literacy, STEM, and SEL (social and emotional learning). This program will be held at 6 locations throughout the city, the closest to PS8 being PS26.
S.P.A.R.K.S Summer Camp for Grades K-8: July 5 to July 29, 8:15am to 12:15pm, M-F. Program will focus on Literacy, Social Studies, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and the Arts. Bilingual students will attend at PS #17, while PS8 students in monolingual classrooms will attend at PS28.
Dept. of Special Education A.I.M.S. Program: Pre-K to Age 21, July 5 to July 29, 8:00am to 1:30pm Mon-Thurs. only. This is an IEP-based program and will be held at PS3.
Dept. of Special Education H.A.T.S. Program: Grades 2-8, July 5 to July 29 8am to 1:30pm M-F; Virtual instruction on Fridays. This program is for "at risk" students and those with disabilities. Located at PS20.
Dept. of Special Education "Ignite" Online Program: Grades 2-12, July 1st to August 31. All Virtual Instruction.
CASPER SUMMER CAMP: Students in current grades K - 8 who attend the S.P.A.R.K.S. summer camp may attend the C.A.S.P.E.R. summer program from July 5-July 29, 11:45 am - 5:30 pm M-Th, and 8:30 am - 5:30 pm on Friday. Fee: $400.00 for the month (July 5th-July 29, 2022), FREE for Urban League students.

Speranza Theatre: Grades 3-4, July 5-July 29, 8:15am to 12:15pm (PS3, 17, 26)
Team Wilderness: Grades 5-7, choice of two sessions: June 30 to July 15, OR July 18 to 29. 8:30am to TBD, Location TBD.
Camp Liberty: Grades K-3, Choice of 4 sessions: 6/30 to 7/8, 7/11 to 7/22, 7/25 to 8/5 OR 8/8 to 8/19. M-F 9am to 3:30pm Location TBD
NJCU Sports Camp: Grades 5-7, August 1-12 9am to 3pm. Locations TBD
